NEWARK – The Newark Bears professional baseball team will offer a youth baseball clinic next month, open to players ages 8-17 years old. The four-day camp will be held from Aug. 22-25; each day begins at 9 a.m. and wraps up after the Bears’ home game (except Aug. 22, which ends at 4:30 p.m.)
Instruction will be provided by former major league players Tim Raines, Jim Leyritz, Ron Karkovice, Daryle Ward and Tim Raines Jr. as well as other members of the Newark Bears organization. Each day, campers will work on skills and learn new techniques at three or four stations. They will have lunch with the Newark Bears and watch that evening’s game from a private suite. Activities and games, a snack, and dinner will be provided each day. On the last day of camp, there will be a home run derby activity.
The camp fee is $300 per child. The Newark Bears play at Riverfront Stadium, 450 Broad Street, Newark. For more information, email email@example.com.
