PERTH AMBOY— Mayor Wilda Diaz and the Office of Recreation invite city resident to the reopening of the Perth Amboy Center for the Arts on Saturday, July 16, from noon- 4 p.m.
This summer’s recreational programming draws forth both youth and adults with activities like guitar lessons, jazz improvisation, painting, portrait and figure drawing, crocheting, poetry and open mic as well as arts and crafts. These programs run on weekdays and weekends to give all a chance to participate.
Saturday’s grand re-opening event will kick-off the summer programs with an exhibit showcasing local arts and performances that include: music, poetry and dance. There will be creative workshops, face painting and a mural-making project.
“I look forward to having our youth participate in programs that keep them occupied and active during the summer month and art is just another great way of expanding our outreach,” said Diaz.
The Perth Amboy Center for the Arts is located at 339 Reade Street in the Patten Park Center.
