The Union County Homicide Task Force is continuing to investigate the fatal shooting, according to Prosecutor Theodore J. Romankow.
Authorities were called to the 400 block of Schiller Street in Elizabeth around 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, said Romankow. It was not immediately clear how long Jackson had been near Schiller Street before being discovered.
Investigators had to use forensic methods to identify Jackson because she did not have any identification when her body was found.
No arrests have been made and no motive has been identified for the homicide, according Romankow.
