SOUTH RIVER – Sunny skies welcomed dozens of local residents to the grand re-opening of The Provident Bank’s newly-renovated South River branch on Saturday, June 18 at 6 Jackson Street in South River.
Mayor Raymond Eppinger kicked-off the re-opening festivities with remarks about the vibrant South River community, followed by a few words from President and CEO Chris Martin. The ribbon-cutting was followed by check presentations to several community organizations: Engine Company No. 1, Reliable Fire Company, Summit Engine Company and the South River Rescue Squad.
“The response from the South River community confirms that there continues to be a demand for a bank like Provident in this area,” said Provident President and CEO Chris Martin. “We’re excited to celebrate with area residents and believe these renovations will offer increased convenience to new and existing customers.”
The public was invited to join in the celebration. Visitors were treated to free refreshments, including pastries, popcorn, and an entire roasted pig. There were free activities for kids, including a balloon clown, moon bounce and face painting. Visitors also stopped by to try their luck at Provident’s Instant Cash Rewards Game or to open a new account at the branch.
Provident also is running a sweepstakes as part its grand re-opening celebration. One winner will win a $2,500 travel voucher – entries will be accepted at the South River branch location through July 30.
