LINDEN — Our culture is embracing all things culinary; millions tune in each week to the Food Network. A new focus on healthy eating has more and more households choosing home cooked meals as an affordable way to increase family time and improve nutrition.

The Reformed Church of Linden is tying into that theme with this year’s vacation Bible school program. The “Shake It Up Café,” named because Jesus calls us to “Shake Up” our lives and become his followers, introduces children to Biblical festivals that reveal the ingredients that link the Bible and our lives today. It also incorporates a mission emphasis on feeding the hungry in our community.

This is the 16th year of vacation Bible school at the Reformed Church of Linden. The program, for ages 4 to 12, runs from 9 a.m. – noon July 11 through 16. Children attending are asked to wear the color of the day: Monday-Orange, Tuesday-Green, Wednesday-Red, Thursday-Purple and Friday-Blue. There will be a Friday evening on July16 at 6:30 p.m., when the children will share all that they learned.

All children are welcome regardless of religious affiliation and there is no registration fee. To sign up or for more information, call the church office at 1-908-486-3714 or Donna at 1-908-578-2420 or email
