TRENTON – On Wednesday, Gov. Chris Christie nominated two local residents to the Union County Board of Taxation.
Maureen McLeer Morin, Esq. of Cranford, a lawyer married to Union County GOP chair Phil Morin, and George T. Wagenhoffer of Rahway, a former councilman, are the governor’s picks.
County boards of taxation serve as the supervising taxing authority for their respective counties. They are responsible for certifying property tax assessments and are the venue for property tax assessment appeals.
The state Senate must confirm the governor’s nominations.
