Casino Night Event Aids Big Brothers Big Sisters

EATONTOWN — Big Brothers Big Sisters of Monmouth & Middlesex Counties (BBBSMMC) held its third annual casino night at Asbury Park Convention Hall on Friday, June 24. As over 400 guests walked through the doors of Convention Hall, they were overwhelmed by the dramatic transformation of this legendary venue into a true casino. Aside from the club lighting, dance music, and gaming tables, the room was filled with a sense of community and support.

“We’re thrilled that so many people came out in support of our agency and the children that we serve. Support from the local community is key to reaching more kids who need the guidance of a caring Big Brother or Sister in their life” remarked BBBSMMC’s executive director, William Salcedo.

The funds raised from Casino Night will be used to sustain and expand the agency’s mentoring programs for children who are facing emotional, social and academic challenges.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Monmouth & Middlesex Counties acknowledged Madison Marquette and event sponsors for their support – Aspire Technology Partners, The Shamy Law Firm, LLC, Hall Construction Co., Seaview Orthopaedic & Medical Associates, The Morris & Clara Weshnak Family Foundation, The Children’s Hospital at Monmouth Medical Center, and The Sean & Wileeta McGee Foundation.

The mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Monmouth & Middlesex Counties is to provide children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported 1:1 mentoring relationships that change their lives for the better, forever. BBBSMMC is a donor-supported, volunteer agency that is currently serving over 400 children and the agency is funded through individual gifts, grants and special events.
