LINDEN – State Sen. Nicholas P. Scutari and other members of Linden’s Yellow Ribbon Committee gathered recently to finish decorating the plaza in front of City Hall in honor of American soldiers stationed abroad.

The committee affixed yellow ribbons to the tall evergreen and to the war memorial in front of City Hall. The Yellow Ribbon Committee was joined by members of Linden’s City Council, the school system and the Navy Junior ROTC.

“It is vital that we remember and honor the sacrifices made by our brave men and women in uniform as they continue to defend our nation and our freedoms in these dangerous times,” said Scutari (D-Linden.) “We gathered here for a unified purpose – to support our troops.”

The Yellow Ribbon Campaign serves both to display the Linden community’s deeply felt gratitude to those who have fallen in the service of their country and to remind residents that there are still American soldiers in harm’s way. The Committee endeavors to send out a message, reminding people to support our troops.
