Investigators Seek Witnesses To Woodbridge Hit-And-Run Fatality

WOODBRIDGE — Investigators continue to seek witnesses to a hit-and-run collision that led to the death of a motorcyclist on June 12, Middlesex County Prosecutor Bruce J. Kaplan and Robert Hubner, director of the Woodbridge Police Department said Tuesday.

Angel Hernandez, 28, of Elizabeth was pronounced dead at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Rahway at 11:19 p.m., shortly after he collided with another vehicle while riding his motorcycle on Route 1 in the Avenel section of Woodbridge.


Police were alerted to the crash at 10:10 p.m. on June 12, when a 911 call reported a motorcycle on fire in a northbound lane near Mitchell Avenue.

When police arrived, they found Hernandez in the right lane of the highway. The motorcycle, a red 2001 Suzuki, was in the center lane.
