Police Seek Suspects In Gas Station Robberies

LINDEN – Police are seeking suspects in three gas station robberies that took place within a ten minute span last Thursday.

The first robbery took place at 10:27 p.m. on June 16 at the Shell station on West Edgar Road, police said. A silver car pulled into the station and a black man with a thin beard pointed a gun at the attendant and demanded cash.


At 10:32 p.m., the Exxon station on East Edgar Road was robbed by a black man with a gun, police said. The attendant reported that the suspect was driving a Dodge or Chrysler and was accompanied by a man resembling the suspect in the first robbery.

At 10:33 p.m., a stocky black man with a beard drove a silver Chrysler, possibly a four-door Dodge Charger, into the Delta station on East Edgar Road. He pointed a gun at the station attendant and took his wallet, according to police. The witness told police that that the car had a temporary plate in the rear window with “C91” in the registration.

The vehicle was last seen on Routes 1&9 north, heading towards Elizabeth. There were no injuries in any of incidents.
