STATE — More than 375 Berkeley College associates volunteered 1,500 hours of community service at 40 community agencies in New Jersey and New York as part of the second annual Berkeley College Community Service Day held Friday, June 10.

In New Jersey volunteers helped at 21 locations spread across Union, Morris, Hudson, Monmouth, Bergen, Passaic, Essex, Middlesex, and Somerset counties. Community Service Day gives associates the opportunity to provide hands-on help at local organizations. In Union County, volunteers helped with gardening and painting at the Salvation Army in Elizabeth; sorted and packed food and assembled clothing at the Community Food Bank of New Jersey in Hillside; and helped to prepare kits for the New Jersey Organ and Tissue Sharing Network 5K Run.
