Convention Celebrates Star Trek’s 45th Anniversary

PARSIPPANY — Star Trek fans will celebrate 45 years of Star Trek with a weekend of everything “Trek” as Creation Entertainment brings The Official Star Trek Convention: The Celebration of the 45th Anniversary to Parsippany, Friday through Sunday, June 24, 25, and 26. The event will be held at the Hilton Parsippany Hotel, 1 Hilton Court (Rte 10.)

This special three-day weekend will feature an array of Star Trek stars, non-stop events, parties, contests, panels, performances, autographs and photo ops. Some extra surprises will include the live appearance of the Klingon Duras sisters together for the very first time on the east coast and a character make-up demonstration with Star Trek SFX makeup artist John Paladin.


The Official Star Trek Convention will be highlighted by in-person appearances on stage by a Starfleet worthy line-up of Star Trek celebrities. Included will be: On Friday, Grace Lee Whitney (Yoeman Janice Rand of Classic Star Trek) and Deep Space Nine’s Nana Visitor (Major Kira) and Rene Auberjonois (Odo) together and separate on stage; on Saturday, Connor Trinneer (Trip) and Dominic Keating (Lt. Malcom Reed) and the evil Klingon Duras Sisters Gwynyth Walsh (B’Etor) and Barbara March (Lursa) in full costume; on Sunday, Jonathan Frakes (Commander Riker), Nichelle Nichols (Lt. Uhura) and Bobby Clark (The Gorn).

The fun will be kicked up a notch on Saturday night with the Star Trek Saturday Evening Celebrity Cabaret. Featured will be stand-up comedy by Dominic Keating and skits and fun with Barbara March and Gwynyth Walsh. A separate ticket is required for event.

In addition to celebrity appearances, the non-stop auditorium show will include behind the scenes presentations, costume and trivia contests, no minimum bid auctions of unique collectibles and one-of-a-kind items, and special salute videos and previews of upcoming sci-fi television shows and motion pictures. Also there will be an exhibit hall on Star Trek and sci-fi collectibles, autographs and photo opps.

General admission tickets are available at the door for $20. General admission tickets for children 12 and under are $10. Children six and under are admitted free when accompanied by a parent or guardian. Saturday Night Celebrity Cabaret tickets are $15 at the door. Show hours are Friday, 2:00 – 7:00 PM, Saturday, 9:30 AM – 6:30 PM, and Sunday, 10:00 M – 5:30 PM.
