I recently looked at the reviews of the movies that are being shown and how many stars they seem to be worth. Here I go again. To begin with, maybe I shouldn’t comment about it, but it’s tough not to.
I haven’t been to a movie in so long, I truly cannot remember the last one and I don’t know the reviewers personally. It’s not their fault with what’s out there, but I did count the stars to see how many were credited to movies with “violence, nudity, graphic sex and profanity” involvement, or however it was noted. Many times, they would receive 3½ stars. Sorry about that, just not my cup of tea.
How many can remember “Gone With The Wind?” The worst comment made was by Clark Gable (wasn’t he great?) “Frankly my dear, I don’t give a damn.” Oh sure, I’m dating myself, but what’s happened to some of the other wonderful entertainment we were exposed to and absolutely enjoyed?
Maybe we should bring back the Legion of Decency idea. Who needs the “garbage” that’s being shown and at what cost?
