Patrick Liu Of Edison Named Rotary Club Student Of The Year

EDISON – The Edison Rotary Club honored its students of the year at the Scholarship Awards Dinner held on May 12 at the Pines Manor in Edison.

Patrick Liu ’11 was chosen as the Wardlaw-Hartridge Senior of the Year from among 10 classmates who represented the school as Rotary Club Students of the Month. Other W-H seniors who earned monthly recognition during the 2010-2011 school year were Kelsey Hart ’11 (October), Kayla Kluse ’11 (November), Adina Pearlman ’11 (December), Manan Patel ’11 (January), Monal Mehta ’11 (February), Roshni Mehta ’11 (March), Ben Stoddard ’11 (April), Sara Alkhalili ’11 (May) and Angad Dhindsa ’11 (June).

Each year, Edison Rotary Club pays tribute to high school seniors who were selected for selflessly giving back to their community in significant ways. The object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:

First, the development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service;

Second, high ethical standards in business and professions, the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations, and the dignifying of each Rotarian’s occupation as an opportunity to serve society;

Third, the application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian’s personal, business and community life;

Fourth, the advancement of international understanding, goodwill and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.
