CLARK – Several veterans recently visited Valley Road School in Clark for a service to commemorate Memorial Day and the sacrifices of all whom served in the armed forces.

At the ceremony, Principal Joe Beltramba thanked Michael Cordasco for being the veterans’ liaison to the elementary schools. Cordasco was presented with a large welcome back banner and a video in his honor. He and several other veterans spoke to the students about Memorial Day and what it means to them.

The Student Council also placed a wreath in honor of those who made the supreme sacrifice, along with two veterans. Representatives from each class came up to the stage and placed poppies by the wreath. A patriotic song and the Pledge of Allegiance were also part of the program. Beltramba also spoke on the meaning of Memorial Day.
