EDISON – The Edison Recreation Department is gearing up for summer by announcing their 2011 summer trips. All trips are first come first served and are open to adults and children. Any child under 18, and not registered in the Edison Recreation Playground Program must be accompanied by an adult on all trips.
Water is the key word this summer. Five of the eight trips will involve swimming. The season will start with a “roar” on July 13 with a trip to the Philadelphia Zoo. Hurricane Harbor Water Park (July 20), Keansburg Amusements & Runaway Rapids (July 27) and Dorney Park (Aug. 3) follow before hitting dry land again at Citi Field as the Mets take on the San Diego Padres (Aug. 11).
The final three trips are all parent/child trips. A three-hour cruise on the Circle Line in New York City (Aug. 16) is followed by a very fun tubing trip down the Delaware River (Aug. 24). The summer trips end up with an all day excursion to Wildwood (Aug. 31).
All details and applications can be accessed beginning on June 1 from the township website, www.EdisonNJ.org. Call 1-732-248-7312 for additional information.
