Finally, after what I can say might be years, someone is protesting farming jobs out of state that should remain in our areas. Did anyone happen to pick up that bit of news that local workers are angry at PSE&G for hiring out of state contractors for call centers to answer phones and meter problems? That is what I consider chutzpah!
Just as an example, I had to call a bank. As a matter of curiosity, I asked, “Where are you located?” The response was California. I have a tendency to do that, and how does that grab you? Another is a water company that services Union County. We do get the water locally, right? The bill comes from Pennsylvania and the answering service is in Florida. I’m sure you must all know the same deal with a telephone company arrangement with India.
My sympathies go out to these workers, as my husband and son were both union electricians and I have seen how their work has gone down the drain. Remember the old saying, “Charity begins at home.” I recently received a letter from Energy Plus to change over and just may give it serious consideration. I know someone who did that, and is saving MONEY.
