PLAINFIELD – Authorities have identified the homicide victim found at a West Front Street home this weekend.
Julio Matute, 28, of Plainfield appears to have died several days before his body was discovered on Sunday afternoon. Investigators used tattoos on the victim’s body to make the identification, according to authorities. An autopsy conducted on Monday determined that Matute’s death was a homicide.
The Union County Homicide Task Force and the Plainfield Police Department are continuing their investigation. Anyone who provides information leading to the arrest and indictment of a suspect is eligible for a reward of up to $5,000 by calling Union County Crimestoppers at 1-908-654-TIPS or visitig uctip.org.
