LINDEN – A 20-year-old Elizabeth man was stabbed outside a Linden convenience store on Friday evening, according to police.
Officers responded to the Aldi convenience store on West Edgar Road at 7:21 p.m. on May 13 to investigate a reported stabbing. A witness told police that she was leaving the store with the victim when several other men approached him. A scuffle started between the victim and two of the other men after words were exchanged. The witness saw the victim fall to the ground and noticed he was bleeding from his left side.
The suspects got into a vehicle and drove away. The victim was treated at the scene by paramedics from Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital at Rahway and then transported to University Hospital in Newark where he was treated for a non life-threatening injury.
Police believe that the victim and the suspects knew each other, but the motive for the attack remains unclear. Authorities are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact Detective Kevin Mikolajczyk at 1-908-474-8537 or email email@example.com.
