SOUTH BRUNSWICK — On Saturday, June 11, Middlesex County’s Rutgers Cooperative Extension office will present a workshop on “Attracting Birds & Butterflies to Your Garden” from noon to 2 p.m. at the EARTH Center in Davidson’s Mill Pond Park, 42 Riva Avenue, South Brunswick.
The fee for the workshop is $20. This will be a classroom & outdoor workshop.
Master Gardener Pat Evans will teach participants what plants and features can be added to yards to make them desirable to local winged wildlife. Attendees will learn the value of native plants, and experience the EARTH Center’s Butterfly House. This practical workshop is designed for the beginner or intermediate gardener, looking to minimize environmental impact.
The 2011gardening workshop series at the EARTH Center is a great opportunity for those who cannot commit to the regular sessions of the Middlesex County Master Gardeners Classes, to get the horticultural information they need from a local source.
Registration is required by June 8. The size of the class will be limited, so register early to insure a space. For more information contact the Ag office at 1-732-398-5262.
