Kenilworth Vets To Host TV Wrestling Legends

KENILWORTH — National Pro Wrestling Superstars will return to the Kenilworth Veterans Center (33 South 21st Street, just off The Boulevard, minutes from the Garden State Parkway) on Saturday, May 14 at 7:35 p.m., in a benefit show for the Kenilworth Vietnam Veterans.

One of two TV legends stepping between the ropes that night will be a former ECW and WWE hardcore icon. He’s been referred to as “The Innovator of Violence”, as he has been in every conceivable type of no-holds-barred match (many of which were conceived by him), the one and only Tommy Dreamer.

And sharing the top billing (and probably aiming to have most of it, as he always did) will be the self-professed “Greatest Intercontinental Champion of all time”, the former WWE singing sensation (again mostly in his own mind) The Honky-Tonk Man, who after too long of an absence will make his return to NWS in Kenilworth that night.

But what the area fans are buzzing about, just as much as the two legendary headliners, is what is being billed as the final showdown between ex-friends (now bitter rivals), Kenilworth’s “Tough” Tony Scorace and Union’s Steve “The Gipper” Gipke, as they will attempt to settle their differences once and for all in the ring, with wrestlers surrounding the ring in a Lumberjack Match.

The fans will also be treated to a six-man high-flier showdown, as Union’s own NWS Tag-Team Champions The Jersey Shore Jocks (Mike Dennis & Chris D’Andrea) team up with rising phenomenon The Jersey Kidd against arch rivals “Too Hot” Steve Scott & Nick Talent and their partner the NWS Cruiserweight Champion Spyral. All that and much more!
