BOOK DISCUSSIONS

Thursday, May 5th at 7 pm – The (Really Good) Book Discussion Group will discuss DAWN by Octavia E. Butler.

Thursday, May 19th at 10 am – The Great Books Discussion Group will discuss HABITS AND WILL by John Dewey.

FILMS

Tuesday, May 3rd at 12 noon – The Lunchtime Film Series presents its “DID YOU MISS THESE? – RECENT AWARD WINNERS” series.  Bring a brown bag lunch.  Funding by the NJ Council on the Arts, Dept. of State, a partner agency of the National Endowment for the Arts, through a grant administered by the Union County Office of Cultural and Heritage Affairs and by the Friends of the Springfield Public Library.

Thursday, May 19th at noon and 6:45 pm – The International Film Festival presents THE SECRET IN THEIR EYES (Spanish, 2009).  Funding for the film is made possible in part by the NJ State Council on the Arts, Dept. of State, through a grant administered by the Union County Office of Cultural and Heritage Affairs and by the Friends of the Springfield Public Library.

COMPUTER TRAINING

The Library will continue its computer training program on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, by appointment.  Sign up for a half-hour session on basic computing skills.  Stop by the Reference Desk or call (973)376-4930 X228.  Space is limited!

SCRABBLE
Scrabble Night continues – Monday evenings at 7 pm.  Bring a friend or meet new opponents!

KNITTING GROUP
The KNIT WITS knitting group meets in the Library on the second and fourth Monday of the month, at 10 am.

THE BRIDGE CLUB
The Bridge Club meets every first and third Tuesday at 1 pm in the Library.  Groups for beginner and intermediate players.
