CLARK — Siblings Daniella and Nicholas Walano take a break from their studies, at Valley Road School in Clark, to attend a PTA-sponsored assembly on animals and the environment.  The children saw a variety of animals up close including the baby alligator shown here and a Patagonian Cavy, a large rodent which can run as fast as 35 mph.  They learned about the animals’ natural habitat, life expectancy and other fun facts. The animal handler stressed the importance of respecting all animals and only taking in those for pets, such as cats and dogs, which are meant to be domesticated.
