EDISON — Aneesa Sonawalla of Edison won a close election to serve as Student Council president at The Wardlaw-Hartridge School for the 2011-12 school year. It took two days and a second vote to determine the outcome, but Sonawalla was elected. She and classmate Billy Buchbinder of Scotch Plains received the exact number of votes in the election held on Wednesday, April 13. Both presidential candidates delivered wonderful speeches and made the selection process difficult for the Upper School students. The candidates returned to the podium to answer questions on Thursday, April 14 and the vote that followed produced a winner.
