St. Patrick Principal To Be Honored At Dinner

ELIZABETH — The Alumni Association of St. Patrick High School in Elizabeth will honor Principal Joe Picaro at the 20th Annual Hall of Fame Dinner on Saturday, April 30, at 6 p.m. at the Gran Centurions in Clark.

Picaro has served for 40 years at St. Patrick’s, first as Dean of Discipline before becoming principal in 1992.

Another long-time educator, Sister Dorothy Jose Lichtenberg, will also be honored. Sister Dorothy Jose was first assigned to St. Patrick’s High School in September 1958. After ten years in the classroom, she served as principal for nearly 25 years. Still at school on a daily basis, Sister “DJ” is celebrated her 90th birthday in March.

The Hall of Fame dinner will enable the public many former students to acknowledge the personal milestones of these two legendary individuals who have served the students and faculty of St. Patrick’s.

Dinner tickets are available at $60 per person and a commemorative journal is being prepared as well. To purchase tickets, salute the honorees in the booklet or for further information, contact the school by telephone at 1-908-353-5220 or email
