JCC Offers Bridge Lessons

EDISON – The Jewish Community Center of Middlesex County will offer two classes for beginning and novice bridge players this spring. The classes, taught by Gil Hollander, are open to both members and non-members.

Bridge For Beginners, a six-session course, will be offered on Wednesdays, April 27, May 4, 11, 18, 25 and June 1 from 10 a.m. – noon. Participants will learn how to evaluate, bid and play a hand, to score and to defend against opponents in a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere. Come alone or with a partner. The fee is $36 for Community Campus members and $46 for non-members.

Bridge For The Novice Player Part II will be offered on Thursday evenings, April 28, May 5, 12, 19, 26 and June 2 from 7-9 p.m. This course continues the beginner sessions and is suitable for those with some experience. The basics of bidding and play will be reviewed, bidding conventions and strategy will be introduced and play knowledge will be increased.

Both classes will be held at the Jewish Community Center of Middlesex County, 1775 Oak Tree Road, Edison. Advanced registration is required by contacting the JCC front desk staff at 1-732-494-3232. A minimum number of participants are required.

Duplicate bridge is held Wednesdays from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Jewish Community Center throughout the year. Come alone or with a partner. Fees are $6 for Community Campus members and $7 for non-members. For additional information, contact Sue Horwitz at 1-732-494-3232 x603.
