Pretty Shoddy Journalism

NJTODAY.NET's online business directory

Regarding your headline article from April 1, 2011, “Quijano’s Connections Questioned,” nowhere in the article does it actually say what those questions are. It also fails to report who is asking these questions.

The article mostly deals with old news about corruption investigations in Hudson County that seem to have little relevance to what is going on in Union County today. The only hint we get is when it mentions that Assemblywoman Annette Quijano was “closely associated” with former Hudson County Freeholder Nidia Davila-Colon who was implicated in a bribery scandal from the 1990s. What does “closely associated” mean? Were they perhaps just friends and if so is this somehow supposed to cast a negative light on Assemblywoman Quijano? The article never explains.

Basically, the article reports nothing of any relevance. What it is is an example of pretty shoddy journalism, if the word journalism can even be used. Oh yea, the photo of Quijano and Davila-Colon together conveniently misidentifies who is Davila-Colon and who is Quijano. Quijano is on the right in the photo, not the left.
