Apartment Fire Ruled Arson

RAHWAY – The cause of a fire that destroyed an unfinished apartment complex on St. Georges Avenue on Jan. 4 has been ruled arson, Police Chief John Rodger confirmed last week.

The 50-unit complex had been nearly completed. It took an estimated 100 firefighters about five hours to bring the blaze under control; fortunately, no one was injured as a result of the fire.


Demolition of the remains of the complex was underway last week.

The developer has expressed plans to rebuild.
