Community Comes Together To Help Boy With Cancer

CLARK – Jason Condit is a seven-year-old boy who was diagnosed with stage four cancer in three parts of his body.

For the past six months, Jason has spent much of his life in the hospital and on chemotherapy.  Now Jason is awaiting his first operation.  An organization called “Jason’s Friends” has been formed to raise funds for Jason and his family to help with the costs of medical bills.

Brownie Troop 249 from F.K. Hehnly Elementary School in Clark donated their share of the proceeds from their sale of Girl Scout Cookies to “Jason’s Friends.”

On Thursday, April 7, the Clark Recreation Center on Westfield Avenue will hold a Zumba for a Cause fundraiser from 7-8:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 per person or $40 for a family of four. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. for tricky tray raffles. All proceeds will go to “Jason’s Friends.”

Clark VFW Post 7363, 6 Broadway, will host a tricky tray auction on Wednesday, May 4. The $20 entrance fee includes snacks, finger foods, soda, coffee, tea, and homemade desserts. Music will be provided by DJ Adams. Donations of items or gift certificates are welcome, but they need to be received by Friday, April 22.
