EDISON — His nickname is “Cardman,” and he has created a spectacular display at the College Center at Middlesex County College. Alex Perricone of Avenel is a card artist, and before he graduates in May, he decided to create a “card city.” He takes thousands of normal playing cards and stacks them, creating intricate designs that go several feet into the air. He doesn’t fold the cards or use glue or tape, just balances them on top of each other. Students, faculty and staff often stop by to watch as he works. The display will be up through the first week in April. He says his goal is to inspire people to realize “if you work hard enough, anything is possible.” (Photo courtesy of Middlesex County College)
