EDISON — The cast and crew of the Wardlaw-Hartridge School production of Beauty and the Beast brought the crowd to its feet during a magical run of performances during the weekend of March 4-6.
Ashley Martin of Edison delivered a virtuoso performance as Belle and Billy Nolan of Colonia was superb as the Beast. Other main characters who shone on stage included Nick Davis of Union as Gaston, Milika Griffiths of Edison as Mrs. Potts, Alex Barbet of Plainfield as Lumiere, Samantha Lamparello of Warren as Babette, Danny Marques of Elizabeth as Cogsworth, Stephanie Smyczek of Edison as Madame De La Grande Bouche, Max Needle of Scotch Plains as Lefou, Noah Fischer of Parsippany as Chip and Brian Downing of Scotch Plains as Maurice.
“I was just beaming with pride seeing them up there,” said Sharon Byrne, Upper School music teacher and musical director of the show. “There was so much emotion and such a great connection between the cast and the audience. It was just so wonderful to see them bring the story alive.” (Photo by An Vu of Colonia)
