NEWARK – NBC weight loss program “The Biggest Loser” filmed a segment at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark as part of the show’s “Pound for Pound Challenge” community weight loss initiative.
A group of employees from NBIMC have created a team for the “Pound for Pound Challenge.” For every pound they pledge to lose through May 31, the “Pound For Pound Challenge” will donate 11¢ to Feeding America® through local food banks.
On the day of the visit from “The Biggest Loser” program, Barbara Mintz, MS, RD, assistant vice president for wellness, was filmed leading an nutrition class for team members, and Kerri Rossi, RD, nutritionist from NBIMC, ran an energetic Zumba class for the group. The NBIMC team was also filmed doing a “Pound for Pound Shout Out,” which is an enthusiastic cheer to kick off their weight loss challenge efforts.
The segment is scheduled to air on the April 12 segment of “The Biggest Loser.”
