PLAINFIELD — The Union County Homicide Task Force is investigating the shooting death of a Plainfield man that occurred in the early morning hours today, Prosecutor Theodore J. Romankow said.
At approximately 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, Curtis Stroud, 31, was dropped off at Muhlenberg Hospital suffering from a gunshot wound, said Romankow. Authorities have located the men that brought Stroud to the hospital and are interviewing them, officials said.
Stroud was pronounced dead at 1:45 a.m. and the Union County Homicide Task Force was notified. A short time later, a crime scene was located at the intersection of Berckman Street and South Avenue. Detectives continue to gather and examine evidence and interview potential witnesses this morning, officials said.
