March 2 at 6:33 p.m. – Officer Martin Jedrzejewski arrested Linden resident Rene Anthony Pierre-Louis, 19, and charged him with possession of stolen property. Pierre-Louis was stopped on the 800 block of Bergen Avenue for failure to wear a seat belt. When the officer ran the 1994 Honda Civic’s license plate, he found that it belonged to a vehicle reported stolen from Rahway. Pierre-Louis was transported to Union County Jail, with bail set at $10,000. He was also charged with a Fanwood Borough contempt warrant as well as summonses for driving while license suspended and failure to wear a seat belt.

March 7 at 9:45 p.m. – Officers arrested Plainfield resident James Farrow, 53, and charged him with attempted theft by deception, hindering, and possession of marijuana. Farrow allegedly attempted to use a fake credit card to purchase $2,000 worth of electronics from WalMart on West Edgar Road, but left without the merchandise when a cashier became suspicious. When officers stopped Farrow, he allegedly possessed marijuana. Police said that the suspect gave a false birthdate and Social Security number during the booking process.
