Authorities Identify Victim’s Body Found In Elizabeth

ELIZABETH — Authorities have identified the victim who was discovered on Monday afternoon in Elizabeth, Union County Prosecutor Theodore J. Romankow said Wednesday.

Marlon Castaneda of Franklin Street in Elizabeth, had been reported missing by relatives on Oct. 11, 2010. He was last seen alive on Oct. 9, 2010. He would have been 23 in February.

Castaneda’s partially decomposed body that was discovered on March 7 near Pine Street and Front Street in Elizabeth, said Romankow. An autopsy was performed by the county medical examiner on Tuesday determined that Castaneda’s death was a homicide.
