RAHWAY — Franklin Elementary School in Rahway recently held a “Writers’ Roundtable Challenge”.  Students in grades three, four and five were invited to participate in this principal’s writing initiative.  They were required to write an essay based on a speculative prompt: A New School Rule.  In order to pass the challenge, students had to follow all of the outlined rules.  Essays were required to be at least four paragraphs long, include at least 10 vocabulary words from a list, and use proper grammar and punctuation. All who passed the challenge were rewarded with a “Make Your Own Ice Cream Sundae” event in the cafeteria with the Principal Arina Robinson. (Photo courtesy of Franklin Elementary School)
