Feb. 24 at 8:15 p.m. –Officers investigated a robbery at Family Dollar, 1600 East St. Georges Avenue. A masked suspect threatened the cashier with an apparent weapon and took an undetermined amount of cash from the register. Police were unable to locate a suspect. Feb. 28 at 7:40 p.m. – Officers arrested Brooklyn, N.Y., resident Claude Emile, 36, and charged him with forgery and theft by deception for allegedly attempting to purchase a GPS unit with counterfeit bills at Target Department Store on West Edgar Road. Emile was taken to Union County Jail and bail was set at $10,000. The U.S. Secret Service is assisting with the investigation.
