Hospital Foundation Elects Leadership For 2011

RAHWAY – The RWJ Rahway Foundation has announced its leadership for 2011.  Newly-elected officers are Chairman Bernice “Bunny” Bowen, and Vice-Chairman Michele Chen. Secretary Bonnie Josephs and Treasurer Richard “Rick” Parker were re-elected.

Bowen joined the Foundation in 1999.  She is a New Jersey Real Estate broker and is Broker/Owner of Bowen Realty, LLC, Clark.  She is a graduate of the American School of Business, and has served on the Board of the Union County Arts Center.  In addition, Bowen previously served as vice chairman and secretary of the foundation, is a member of the foundation’s Finance and Bylaws Committees, as well as the Rose Ball, Golf Classic and Fashion Show Committees. Bowen resides in Clark with her husband John.


Chen became a trustee in 1993.  She served as chairman of the Foundation from 1997-1999.  A former co-chairman and founder of the foundation’s first Fashion Show, she presently serves as reservations chairman.  She also serves as reservations chair on the Rose Ball Committee and is a member of the Golf Classic Committee, which she chaired from 1997-1999.  Her husband, Dr. Michael Chen, is a member of RWJ Rahway’s Medical/Dental Staff and is director of Cardiology.

A foundation trustee for 15 years, Josephs has previously served as foundation vice-chairman.  She serves on the Nominating Committee, is a member of the Rose Ball Committee, has been co-chairman of both the Golf Classic and Fashion Show, and still serves on both committees.

Parker was elected to the Foundation Board of Trustees in 2003 and is chairman of the Finance Committee.  An executive director with CBIZ KA Consulting Services LLC, he previously held the title of vice president of finance at RWJ Rahway.  He is a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association, serving as treasurer of the Board of Directors.  He is a member of the Golf Classic Committee and served as the honorary chairman for the 2008 event.
