Edison Teen Receives President’s Volunteer Service Award

EDISON — Shruti Nadkarni of Edison, a junior at The Wardlaw-Hartridge School in Edison, has been honored for her exemplary volunteer service with a President’s Volunteer Service Award. This award recognizes Americans of all ages who have volunteered significant amounts of their time to serve their communities and their country.

Nadkarni is active in the Girl Scouts and earned her Silver Award after painting a playground for James Madison Primary School and running a safety workshop on that playground for younger Girl Scouts. She has provided assistance for the elderly, volunteered at medical fairs and done extensive work at the Hands for Hope Food Pantry. Nadkarni also works as a tutor at the Boys and Girls Club of North America.
