Black History Month Music Event

Van Frazier

CRANFORD—In celebration of Black History Month, the Friends of the Cranford Public Library will present noted vocalist Van Frazier, who will perform a selection of spirituals on Wednesday, Feb. 23 at 7:30 p.m. in the Cranford Community Center, 220 Walnut Avenue.

A resident of Roselle, Frazier is an accomplished songwriter, concert/opera singer and recording artist. He has sung with the Fifth Army Orchestra, performed at Carnegie Hall, and has sung at many colleges and churches.


Frazier has been a principal in Rigoletto, La Posada, Staber Mater, St. Paul, Handel’s Messiah, and Faure’s Requiem. He is also the soloist at the Third-Westminster Church of Elizabeth. To date, Mr. Frazier has released eight CDs, his latest being “He Is the One.” Copies of “He Is the One” will be available for purchase at the program. Admission is free and all are welcome.
