HARDWICK–YMCA Camp Mason is preparing for its 111th season of summer camp in northwest New Jersey. A non-profit residential summer camp open to families of all backgrounds, Camp Mason maintains the YMCA’s focus of Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility in a diverse and welcoming community.
Public school programs that support the arts and athletics are being cut throughout the northeast in the face of severe budget challenges. Summer camp offers children the chance to play the sports they love, to practice and perform music and dance, and to create everything from pottery to paintings.
YMCA Camp Mason offers financial assistance to all prospective families. An annual fund is dedicated to helping bring every child to camp regardless of financial need. In 2010 the camp provided assistance to more than 95 families, averaging $660 per camper.
YMCA Camp Mason is a summer camp and year-round outdoor education and conference center located in Hardwick. Founded in 1900 and situated on 650 acres in the Delaware Water Gap, Camp Mason serves more than 10,000 children, adults, and families annually.
