Franklin Students Encouraged To Get Hooked On Good Character

RAHWAY — Good character is essential for success in all aspects of life, from education to social relationships.

Franklin Elementary School in Rahway has launched a school-wide character education initiative in hopes that the positive character traits will become “contagious” and help shape the lives of each student.

Every month students will learn about a new character trait.  In the morning they will hear a clear message about the importance of good character and examples of how they can demonstrate these traits.  Teachers will be on the look out to issue a “Caught Doing Good” award for students who exemplify the meaning of the school’s initiative.

In addition, students will be able to nominate their peers for their random acts of kindness by writing on a fish.  This fish will be displayed for all to see on the school’s “Get Hooked on Good Character” bulletin board.
