PERTH AMBOY — Mayor Wilda Diaz and the Perth Amboy Office of Recreation invite the community for an art forum on Wednesday, Feb. 16 at 7 p.m.
The forum being held at the Center for the Arts will serve as a public meeting for local artists to discuss how art and art-related topics can help transform the community. The discussion is aimed towards developing action items and ideas that can be implemented to encourage more creative expression and demonstration in the city.
In addition to the open-discussion, city organizers will inform attendees of the future vision for the art center, upcoming events, programs and the benefits of community involvement in the city art center. This response to the forum will allow organizers to:
- Create a local artist registry
- Develop programs, classes and exhibits
- Schedule and plan art-related events throughout the city
- Offer artists a space to develop their talents
“Our goal is to get our residents connected and involved. Sharing creativity is sharing a part of oneself and art is the way of achieve this goal,” said Diaz.
All local artist and members of the community interested in contributing to the development of art, culture and heritage in Perth Amboy are welcome to attend. Refreshments will be served.
