Linden Church Gets New Pastor

LINDEN — Derrick R. Dumas will be installed as the new pastor of First Baptist Church Linden on Sunday, Feb. 13 at 4 p.m.

Dumas comes to First Baptist from Calvary Baptist Church, in Morristown where he has served the kingdom there as one of their associate ministers. He received his Master’s of Divinity from Drew Theological Seminary as an honors graduate (cum laude). He is a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University with a B.S. in business administration.


The installation will be officiated by Rev. Jerry M. Carter, Jr., PhD., senior pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, with musical selections from Calvary’s Praise and Worship Choir. First Baptist Youth Choir and Praise Dance Ministry will also render a selection before Carter delivers the installation message.

The morning worship service at First Baptist begins at 11 a.m. On Feb. 13, Pastor Kenneth Cooper of Raleigh, N.C. will be the morning preacher.

First Baptist is located at 929 Dill Avenue in Linden. Both services are open to the public.
