EDISON — Eighth grade students in Noreen Jafri’s Earth science class at The Wardlaw-Hartridge School in North Edison recently investigated the identity of unknown materials and rocks using the National Audubon Society Guide. The students compared samples in rock and mineral sets, and they conducted experiments on their samples including streak, hardness and acid reactivity tests. Next, they recorded their results in Microsoft Excel. Pictured, left to right, are: Nicholas D’Amore of Scotch Plains, Areeb Zaidi of Carteret, and Jack Schildge of Westfield.
