February 7, 2011

One choice can change many lives... Faith or Fate by John Ruggiero

CARTERET – Borough residents will celebrate Carteret’s Disabilities Awareness Day on Sunday, March 13, at St. Demetrius Hall, 681-691 Roosevelt Avenue, between noon and 4 p.m.

There will be music by Billy Drew Entertainment, and refreshments will be provided. The 27th annual event, which is made possible through the efforts of many volunteers, borough departments and local businesses, is both an informational and social gathering.

The Carteret Office for the Disabled and its Board of Commissioners are responsible for referring individuals with disabilities to agencies and service organizations that can provide assistance; keeping the disabled and their families informed about their rights and making the public aware of the many handicapped residents of the community who are able to lead productive lives.

Disabilities Awareness Day is an event to promote community involvement in the office’s goals.
