Ice Storm Causes Power Outages, Travel Problems

STATE — Thousands of New Jersey residents are without power this morning as a result of an ice storm.

At 8:30 a.m., about 15,000 PSE&G customers were without power due to icing on the utility’s equipment and on trees. Nearly 14,000 Jersey Central Power & Light customers were without electricity at 10:40 a.m.


To report a power outage, call PSE&G’s Customer Service line 1-800-436-PSEG or Jersey Central Power & Light at 1-888-LIGHTSS, depending on your utility provider.

NJ Transit has restored limited service on the Northeast Corridor and North Jersey Coast lines. Bus and train service remains subject to delays. Customers are advised to check for the latest travel alerts and advisories.
