High School Hockey Team To Retire Marine’s Jersey

CLARK — Marine Sergeant Michael Brattole, a 2006 graduate of Arthur L. Johnson High School, will be honored at a ceremony before a hockey game between the Clark school and Jonathan Dayton High School at Warinanco Skate Rink on Wednesday, Feb. 2 at 6 p.m.

Brattole, a 22-year-old Clark native, was seriously injured in November when a grenade tore through his chest while he was leading a patrol in Afghanistan.

Brattole will be celebrated on Wednesday by his 2006 varsity hockey team as well as past and present hockey players and many members of the community. His varsity number will officially be retired and Brattole will be given his varsity jersey as a memento from his teammates.

Warinanco Skate Rink is located on Thompson Avenue in Roselle.
