Jan. 20 at 2:57 p.m. – Members of the police department’s Narcotics Bureau arrested Linden resident Jamarl Ratishe Anderson, 29, during a raid of a house on the 900 block of McCandless Street. Police seized 66 bags of marijuana valued at approximately $1,500 and $1,500 in cash. Anderson was charged with possession and distribution of marijuana over one ounce, possession of narcotics paraphernalia, and distribution within 1,000 feet of Public School # 5, and distribution within 500 feet of Martin Luther King Park. He was transferred to the Union County Jail in lieu of $75,000.00 cash bail pending a court date.

Jan. 21 at 4:56 p.m. – Linden police arrested Newark resident Kannisha K. Brooks, 27, at WalMart on West Edgar Road. She was charged with forgery, theft by deception, tampering with evidence and possession of marijuana. She allegedly tried to pay for $439 worth of merchandise with five suspected counterfeit bills. When the cashier notified loss prevention, Brooks allegedly grabbed the bills and ran for the exit while tearing them up. She was transferred to the Union County Jail in lieu of $57,500 bail pending a court date.

Jan. 24 at 3:58 p.m. – Officers arrested Newark resident Adrian D. Herrera at BJ’s Wholesale Club on East Edgar Road. He was charged with third degree shoplifting for allegedly trying to steal merchandise valued at $3,298.34. Herrera was released on a summons pending a court date.
