ROSELAND– Stuart Pachman, a Rahway native and member of Brach Eichler, received the “Distinguished Legislative Service Award” from the New Jersey Bar Association. Pachman was recognized for his outstanding efforts in “assisting and urging reforms in law, aiding in the administration of justice, and maintaining the honor and integrity of the legal profession.”
The Legislative Services Award is recognizes those who have worked to advance the association’s legislative program. In addition to his current efforts pertaining to the Professional Service Corporation Act, Pachman had been a member of the State Bar committee that wrote the New Jersey Nonprofit Corporation Act, chaired a committee that drafted revisions to the statute that governs New Jersey limited partnerships, and, when he was chair of the Business Law Section, testified before a legislative committee on amendments to the Business Corporation Act.
Pachman is a member of the Brach Eichler’s corporate & securities group and its litigation practice group. He counsels businesses, non-profit corporations, and their officers on complex agreements, structuring transactions, business formations and breakups, and day-to-day issues including those involving employees, borrowings, and litigation at both the trial and appellate levels. Pachman is the author of Title 14A Corporations, which he updates regularly. The book and his law review articles have been cited by New Jersey and federal courts as well as courts in other jurisdictions.
Pachman served as a trustee of the New Jersey State Bar Association from 1993 to 1999 and is a former chair and a director emeritus of its Business Law Section and a member of the Equity Jurisprudence Committee. He has been peer review rated as AV Preeminent, the highest rating for professional excellence by Martindale-Hubbell and was recognized by his peers as a New Jersey Super Lawyer 2010 in corporate law and as among the Best Lawyers in America. He was also named the “Newark Area’s Best Lawyer” in corporate law in 2010.
He earned an L.L.B., cum laude from Harvard University, and a B.A. from the University of Virginia.
